Here are some of our favorite Pinterest finds inspired by our love of NOLA & Mardi Gras. This week we’re dreaming of the music & magic that takes place every February in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. We’re inspired by all of the color, the energy, the masks, the musicians, and more!
Love the idea of being surrounded by the talented musicians and immersed in the sounds of NOLA! Found this via Julie Leah on Pinterest and just adore this snapshot.
Nothing is more colorful than the Mardi Gras Indians. Swimming in the sea of pink and imagining how amazing these guys looked in person. Image via rvschex on Flickr.
Confetti makes it better. Although messy, a shot filled with glittery goodness raining down on you is always a keeper. This shot is via a BuzzFeed article about BFF Photo Ideas.
Mardi Gras and masks go hand-in-hand. Wear a mask to set yourself free. It’s part of the history of Mardi Gras and it’s a fun way to celebrate and mix-up your photos. We found too many masks to post here, but a few favorites of Katy Perry, a NOLA Masquerade Wedding, and some semi-creepy vintage mardi gras photos found on Tumblr.
This photo is just awesome. It really has nothing to do with Mardi Gras per se, but the pink colors and the concept of building some elaborate masks, large enough for two, is completely awesome. We found it via HonestlyWTF and it’s a piece by Eugenia Loli.
Each week we’re going to be posting a round-up of some favorite Pinterest finds. This week we’re swooning over L O V E and getting inspired for Valentine’s Day shoots. And awards season! Did you see the Golden Globes Instagram feed?! Hello, gold! So, without further adieu… here are our pins of the moment…
Golden Globes Glam!
Check out this post on Mashable about fashion photog Ellen von Unwerth’s backstage photo sesh with Golden Globe winners! We absolutely adore Gina Rodriguez’s face.
Everybody Loves Marilyn
Stumbled across this oldie, but goodie of the ever-glam Marilyn Monroe a’la DesignLoveFest.
Abstract Expressionist Balloons Anyone?
Ok, we admit it. We love Studio DIY. Kelly has amazing DIY skillz and her Instagram feed is one of the most colorful and creative! These balloons are just HAWT.
La La Love
We adore this post from Armommy with this cute DIY fringe banner. She has steps and a template for you on the blog. Although there are no tots running around our studio, we might have to make this before Valentine’s day! It would be a really cute prop for a wedding photo booth too.
Eat Your Heart Out
Is there really anything about this chocolate heart wall from Studio DIY you wouldn’t love for Valentine’s day? Here’s our thought… Throw a party for Valentine’s. Do this. Get crunk. You and your friends eat all the chocolate hearts and clean-up in one fell swoop! Yum.
Big L O V E
Big vintage sign letters are awesome in every way. This photo makes me want to go up to Black Balsam and shoot for hours with a alphabet truckload! Check out this oldie, but goodie post on The Wedding Scoop and get some backdrop inspiration for your wedding photo booth or ceremony.
