Last weekend the Knoxville Museum of Art hosted a Kick-Off to Summer party with sponsorship from Lexus of Knoxville. We were honored to work with the dynamic team at KMA and Lexus to design a collection of fun summer-inspired props for the event which was held at the art museum and include great food and performances by the Atlanta Showstoppers (amazing!).
Our team was on-site for the evening to provide a fun photo booth experience for this Knoxville crowd. It was our first event at the KMA and it’s a beautiful venue that would be the perfect setting for any gala or wedding. We made a set of two hashtag props for this themed event, #LexusKMA and #KnoxArt. We also dreamed up some pretty fun and new summery props that tied into the overall event theme and color palette. There are a ton more photos in the full gallery on our website, but here are some of our favorites.
For the last three years we have been excited to be part of the CMA Gala at the Columbia Museum of Art. The CMA Gala is an annual event that is synonymous with over-the-top levels of creativity. This year’s gala was themed “A Night in Wonderland” and to match the theme our team designed and built custom props inspired by Lewis Carrol’s wonderful visions. It was a great night and we hope everyone who took part in the CMA Gala Photo Booth had as much fun as we did!
Here are a few of our favorite photo booth shots from the night featuring the CMA Gala prop designs.
Here are a few of our favorite shots from recent gigs. It’s always a blast to see how creative and/or crazy people get when they’re in front of the camera. These are just the highlights from recent weddings, parties, and public events that we’ve been part of.
This past Thursday we headed down to Augusta, GA for the Jim Hudson Lexus Launch Party. The Lexus RC and Lexus NX Launch Party was held at Enterprise Mill in the heart of downtown Augusta. We were excited to be working with Lauren from Team-One again on another great event. We had a lot of fun working with her for the photo booth at last year’s Fur Ball event in Columbia, so we knew this would be equally as fun and classy.
The theme for the event was industrial, so Lauren chose our custom burlap backdrop which we just added to our collection in December. It was fun to see that backdrop come to life finally, and it fit in perfectly with all of the decor. We also laser cut a few Lexus logos as props for guests to hold up in the photos. Since the photo booth was situated right next to the Martini Bar we snapped a few pics of the very cool Martini luge! The other Lexus logo ice sculpture was equally impressive. Overall the decor for this event was really lovely and they transformed the space at Enterprise Mill into a fun and festive atmosphere. The full gallery is live now, but here are a few of our favorites from the night!
In December we were booked for two pop-up shops with two very different styles. The ladies of East West were hosting another amazing pop-up and we knew we had to come up with some glittery goodness for that event. Then we also had the Shelter Collective team hosting a pop-up shop the same week! Check out the photos from Shelter’s pop up opening night here. So, December was a little hectic, to say the least, but we had a lot of fun and definitely felt the holiday spirit alive and well in our studio!
Earlier in the year we did a pop-up shop with the team from East West. The venue they have in West Asheville is really lovely and we had a blast working with these ladies again. You may know Nikki and Katie from East West Vintage Rentals and Courtney from Holdfast Outfitters. There is a lot of talent packed into this trio of women and more to come this year. They have a Salvage Market coming up on February 7th, so check it out!
When we create custom props the process can vary, but all of these words and objects were designed as vector files and then laser cut in our studio. Then we painted, lacquered, and glittered, to our heart’s content. Let’s just say, weeks later, we’re still finding glitter in places you’d least expect it!
One of our favorite props was this – “Falalalalalalalala”. Just in case you’re counting, that’s 8 “la’s”. Phew! It’s painted gold and covered with gold glitter to boot. It was a big hit and inspired us to use glitter on these Wayfarers rendering them completely non-functional as sunglasses, but making them look completely awesome.
So, let’s just say we got Holly & Jolly, Merry & Bright, Love & Light, and all that jazz…
December was a busy month! We had a lot of fun at the Shelter Collective Holiday Pop Up Shop at the Center for Craft, Creativity, and Design in downtown Asheville. The photo booth was setup on opening night and Karie from Shelter provided a beautiful Shibori dyed backdrop.
We designed and created a collection of props just for the event. The snowflakes, antlers, and himmeli style ornaments were all one-of-a-kind designs. Himmeli are a traditional Finnish Christmas decoration. They are simple and geometric, and we laser cut them out of birch. We are looking forward to more opportunities to create custom props and backdrops in 2015, so stay tuned!

Asheville Events for Breast Cancer
October has been a busy month! We had the pleasure of working with two great Asheville organizations this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Having had several women in my family touched by breast cancer I really felt these two events were close to my heart. It was a lot of fun for us to create props that could be meaningful and fun at the same time, so we did a lot of brainstorming about words to describe the strength, hope, and fierceness of the women who face breast cancer. I think we did a great job!
Asheville Pink Pint Night Event Photo Booth
The first event was Pink Pint Night at Highland Brewing, which was sponsored by Asheville Breast Center and the Asheville Citizen Times. We setup the photo booth on the Tasting Room floor and had a great time! The photo booth was a huge hit with crowds and of course all of the pink props we gathered were a big hit. We laser cut inspirational words out of wood and painted them pink. We also laser cut the words Pink Pint Night. Having a studio equipped with the laser cutter means we can create a lot of custom props for events and it makes it possible for us to personalize the photo booth experience for guests. Between the photo booth, the beer, the food trucks, and the live music – Pink Pint Night was a total blast. We even had some fun taking family photos with our little nephew!
Making Strides Event Photo Booth Downtown Asheville
The second event we participated in was the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, which is put on by the American Cancer Society. The walk was on a seriously chilly fall morning and kicked off in Pack Square. Luckily we were next door to the hot chocolate vendor, so we were able to stay nice and toasty! We included even more laser cut words for the Making Strides Walk. Our thought was to have words you could hold up to honor a friend or loved one battling breast cancer. I really love the way these props came out and we look forward to doing more community events like this!
We are excited to be one of the sponsors of this year’s Pink Pint Night happening at Highland Brewing on Thursday, October 16th from 4pm – 8pm. Our photo booth will be setup and we’ll have lots of great props for you to choose from while you enjoy the live music, food, and beer. There’s also going to be a raffle! The event benefits Ladies Night Out, a local non-profit program that provides free mammograms to uninsured and under-insured women. This should be a lot of fun and it’s for a great cause, so don’t miss out!
